Every pixel is infused with local culture and familiarity, making pet adoption feel effortless, joyful, and deeply heartfelt.

What sets Petner apart? Unlike most pet adoption apps that start from feature lists and flows, I began Petner with its soul: branding. I built a brand that lives and breathes Korean culture. The identity—from name to color to illustration—feels instantly familiar and emotionally true, creating trust and connection even before users tap "open."
The Name
The name “Petner” fuses “Pet” and “Partner” in a Konglish twist. It’s a playful, catchy sound that feels like a best friend’s nickname to South Korean ears.

I picked accessible, everyday words that already resonate on social platforms, because while Latin letters are everywhere here, familiar words win hearts first.
Branding Approach
Petner’s heart beats with warmth, softness, and empathy. The logo’s rounded font smiles gently, with the letter “e” transformed into a sweet animal snout—a cheeky nod to Korea’s love for cute, character-driven design inspired by Hangul.

The palette? Joyful purple and aqua turquoise that spark imagination and emotional connection, colors that dance with Korean cultural vibes.
App Onboarding & UI
Onboarding is a breeze: sign up with email or effortlessly log in with trusted Naver and Kakao accounts.

A quick, illustrated 3-step intro walks users through the magic—skip it anytime, no pressure. Then they land in a feed that’s basically Tinder for animals: cards with pets waiting to find their human.

Navigation is clean—hamburger menu left, messages and alerts right, search up top. Below, scroll filters in signature purple with charming cartoon icons let users quickly find cats, dogs, birds, reptiles... you name it.
Communication & Community
Petner chats with a wink and a warm heart. Meme-style banners, playful jokes, and cozy storytelling make users smile and share.

Everything is wrapped in the Korean concept of Jeong (정)—that deep emotional bond that turns users into family.

Petner’s personality jumps off the screen onto merch you actually want—bags, hoodies, cute gifts—perfect for Korea’s giant love of collectibles and swag.
